President Generically, a college is a company of persons having a common purpose or common duties. We have let the term develop over the years to mean the common purpose of learning at a higher educa- tion level. More recently our community colleges have developed a concept of community-wide, open-door learning opportunities not only at the higher education level, but at the level of the needs of the adult citizens of all ages and levels. What an outstanding example of developing civilization of man! Education on multi-levels and for all citizens at moderate cost! You are wise to take part in this movement. Over 30010 of all enrollment in post-secondary institutions in this country is now enrolled in community colleges. lt's the wave of the present and of the future. If you are a student, we would like to say congratulations for becoming a part of our educational family. lf you are a prospective student, we would like to say come and try the SCC experience - whether a course or a full curriculum. We have a faculty and staff who are committed to making SCC one of the most meaningful experiences of your life.
