Jay Kesler A most effective outreach of Southeastern Bible Col- lege is the Youth Conference held in March of each year. High school students and graduates from many states enioy a weekend of college life and Bible teach- ing. These guests experience college campus life, attend classes, and are challenged to full-time Christian service. There is an emphasis on salvation, dedication and mission-mindedness. Approximately twenty percent of the present Freshman class are here as a direct result of Youth Conference. ln March of l966, Don Robertson, associate director of Word of Life Fellowship, ministered to 218 young people. The i967 Valentine Banquet was held on campus, sponsored by the Freshman class, with Jack Cottee as master of cere- monies. The speaker was Mr. Wales Goe- bel, a Christian businessman from Bir- mingham. He brought a heart-stirring message that was applicable to all. Miss Helen Wright, David Whipple, and David Beard presented excellent entertainment, and one ot the highlights of the evening was the chalk drawing by Mrs. Lauristein. The i967 Valentine King and Queen were Ed Rose and Carolyn Ford. First runner-up were Don and Kathy Hawkins. Second runners-up were Ilona Granberry and her escort, Joe Burlingham.
