No student spent all his time studying or worrying about his future, and some never do. Numerous di- versions and social attractions were offered through- out the year in the form of Greek all-school dances, various SAC activities, Homecoming festivities. Per- haps one of the most startling revelations that hit students was that it was possible to be entertained and educated at the same time through the Artist Lecture and Community Concert series and theatre productions. After a day of classes, studying for tests, and vvrit- ing papers, an afternoon intramural game was often sought as a means of relaxation and relieving frus- trations. Exercising muscles and vocal chords pro- vided participants vvith a sense of belonging as well as a means of letting off steam. Not all students were fortunate enough to take part in activities and games after classes but rather took part in the working vvorld, earning money for tuition or rent or just getting by.
