H1873-Those Were the Days-1973 Saturday was the day that the rains came down. GONE was the big show of any Homecoming weekend-the parade. Washed away were hours of float-building and hundreds of dollars in float materials. Dampened were the spirits of band members who had endured early morning bus rides from all over the SEMO area. Despite parade cancellation, judges huddled under umbrellas in Capaha Park to determine the float winners. Class A winners included the first place Alpha Delta Pi-Sigma Chi float: Beat Your Feet on Normal Street labovel, and the second place float was built by Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon flower rlghtl. Dearmont-Myers claimed the third place prize for H1873-1973-Yesterday Once More, tp. 4135. These honors were made public at the game with trophies presented by Homecoming Steering Committee members. figs Si .
