v L l This was the year we were to watch the physical construction of an ideal. It looked quite impressive at times, with Academic peering, half hidden, from behind what seemed to be an immense jungle gym and each length of sidewalk an obstacle course strewn with mud and broken pipe. It's only natural, asking what it's all to mean. Hollow pipelines can only support an empty life and all foundations crack in time. The newness fades and existence must be justified by something more than a gleaming front. All that rarely comes to mind with the newness shining, brilliant, in the sun. It becomes necessary to watch with shaded eyes as names are once more changed to fit the expectations of the day and a few of the tomorrows. Watch as pipes are laid by cautious hands and cornerstones are fitted in, and see what can be found there.

To loll away in the summer green just because the sun is warm To go leaping into a pile of autumn leaves with no respect for their resting place To break off an icicle when it could die such a graceful death To notice the return of the robin with little thought to the journey that's now behind him Only beginning to wonder with the realization that it's all before him again.
