Senior Brian Gordon tried out forthe varsity basketball team and made it. He said tryouts narrowed down the best people possible for an activity. It creates a challenge like competition, said Gordon. Senior Sandy Winkler tried out for Synkra-Knights. She said that tryouts gave her a chance to compete and to find out how she compared to others. Trying out could also be a self-confidence booste like it was for junior Kerri Nazarenus. 1.53 I' I felt I succeeded in doing what I set out to do, said Nazarenus. Nazarenus also said that she could see how no t being successful at tryouts could destroy someone's self-image.
