,Sputnik Qgwitiz Attending a new high school was an excit- ing experience for all of us, especially for the seventh graders. To them it Was more than an exciting experience. lt meant taking a big step in the process of growing up. With the aid of Mrs. Georgianna Compton, their advisor, they started off theyear as if they belonged here. First, alter a heated campaign, they elected 1 as class officers: Tony Webb, president, Gary Stevenson, vice-president, Michael Velte, secre- tgryqregsurerr dent, and Mike Velte, secretary-treasurer, From their home rooms they elected Donna Wiles, Nicholas Dorsey, and Carol Conlon to the Student Council. Bed Cross representatives were David McCall, Gary Stevenson, and Nancy Eager. In the way of extra-curricular activities, the boys of the class played intramural basketball. The captains of the various teams were: Roger Refshauge, Tony Webb, Gary Stevenson, and Bill Rhodes. Although small in stature, the seventh grad- ers have hit Southeast in a big way and will make good leaders in the future.
