Math Classes Crowded; Mrs. W Bozarth. M.A Dept. Staff Increased Mathematics 1 Mrs. Wilma Bozarth grades daily papers of her Algebra I class while students take a test. Classes arc conducted at Curtis due to overcrowded conditions at Southeast. Mr R Herdt. B.S. Mathematics Pep Club Crowded conditions were evident in the mathemat- ics department as most classes swelled to approxi- mately thirty-five students. Three Algebra II classes were added to the curriculum in order to handle the fluctuating number of math students. Increasing the number of math teachers last year from seven to this year's eight. Mr. Robert Herdt and Mr. Dennis Sherman joined the department staff. During their years in high school, all students took at least one course in mathematics, as one unit of math was required for graduation. Since most col- leges demand two or more units of credit, equations and theorems became familiar topics of conversation. Students took advantage of business mathematics, principles of mathematics, triginometry. and analytic geometry classes, and several students commuted from Southeast to East High School for calculus courses which were not offered at Southeast.
