Standing: Dawn Coble, Karen Burton Director: Mr. Brad Sparks Southeast's marching band, under the directorship of Mr. Brad Sparks, gained outstanding results during their competi- tion in the I979-l98O season. ln their first showing at the Western Alamance Band Festival, the band, led by senior Guy Sheets, received a Division Two rating, and the majorettes, headed by Gaye Haynes, placed first in their competition. Equally as impressive was the recognition the marching band received at the Tunstall High School Band Festival near Danville, Virginia. The majorettes were again awarded first place for their performance, while the band received third place honors for its endeavors, So, as these achievements are concerned, the band can be definitely called a noted group. 4
