J- , Jackie Brown crosses homeplate for another Lady Falcon run PGY LGCkeY f0ke5 0 VlCl0U5 SWl 1Q- Nineteen seventy-nine proved to be a successful year for our Falcons. Our Boys' Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, coached by Mr. Ron Rudd and Mr. Wendell Robertson, finished Runner-Up in the conference and came close to winning the championship. The teom was lead by Chuck Thomas, who was an All-Conference player. Outfielder Barry Andrews aided the team with three homeruns and Wade Stanfield, our third baseman, was also an All-Conference player. Our Lady Falcons also had an outstanding I979 season. Coached by Ms. Carolyn Stutts, they tied for second place in the conference. Leslie Reece, Pat Lackey, and Lisa Prillaman were All-Conference players. The awe of the Game is Rzmning The boys' team had a rather uneventful season. The team was led by seniors Barry Norris in the short distances and Bill Swanson in the long distances. Other outstanding athletes were Mark Newsome and Terry Bowman. The girls' team had an impressive season by winning seven out of nine meets. The team was led by seniors Susan Mann and Kay Bow- man.
