THE HEARTBEAT OF SOUTHAMPTON The man who leads our teachers, The teachers who lead our minds, The friends that we take with us, And the friends we leave behind. The clubs which broaden the scope Of learning, and give us a stronger grip. The sports which build our bodies, and teach us good sportsmanship. The books, the music, the tasks, That challenge and inspire us too, The way each school day beg ins the same, But teaches us something new. The dances, and the ball games, And the friendly atmosphere, The sock hops and the pep rallies That make us yell and cheer. This, the Heartbeat of Southampton, Is recorded here with pride, Lest we forget the important part It played in all our lives. The Senior Class
