WHO WE ARE W ho are we? That is one of the hardest questions to an¬ swer for our individual selves, let alone an entire school. Well, we have to start somewhere, so here we go . . . We are the students of South Windsor High. As you unfold the pages of this yearbook, you will see us at work and at play. We are the people who wander the halls and attend classes from 7 am until 1:52 in the afternoon. We are the kids who race out of Q-period class to go to work at Mc¬ Donald ' s, Showcase, 7-11, and Dairy Queen (to name a few); or jump in the near¬ est car and head to Wick¬ ham Park or a friends house; or jump on the bus to rush home and go to sleep. We are also the ath¬ letes who charge the field for practice, or in X-coun- try ' s case, hit the road. We are the actors and musi¬ cians who gather in the au¬ ditorium to rehearse, re¬ hearse, and re-rehearse our scences. We are also the dedicated writers of the Southwinds, the literary magazine and the year¬ book. We are also members of the math team, NHS and all the other clubs. What do we look like? Well, we come in all differ¬ ent shapes, sizes, colors and ages. We have red hair, black hair, brown hair, and blonde hair. We wear glass¬ es and contacts and watch¬ es and rings and lot ' s of other things. We are plain and we are beautiful. We are the people who haunt our teachers dreams at night and send them to early retirements. We are hell-raisers and do- gooders. We are people striving to live the best way we can until we are old enough to leave school and strike out on our own. We are people from all walks of life thrown together under one roof for 180 days a year We are the people who make up this school. We are the students of South Windsor High. 2 Introduction Vanessa Gruver, barely awake waits for the school bus before school. Cindy Cohen strikes a lovely tune while practicing for a concert.
