With deep respect and appreciation, we, the class of 1984, dedicate this Centurion to Mr. John Marchet- ti. He is a paragon of excellence. He has made our school years better by always being interested in us. He is never too busy to discuss our problems or exer¬ cise the skill of listening. His mien wins both respect and popularity from ail. He is strong when strength is necessary, and compassionate, when compassion is needed. Throughout the years, he has advised us, lightened our spirits and reminded us of test dates, scholarships and other important facts. His guidance, time and concern will always be remembered. We would like to thank Mr. Marchetti from the bottom of o ur hearts. ■ mm , , ■% » ! NC . m mmm mm ■ §■ test mms mmw w wm

Tom Geary shows his pride in the Class of ' 83— a year late. When the bus came into sight, it was as if summer had never existed. : 4 -u RRRRINNNG! 6:00 a.m. hasn’t had meaning for three months but when the alarm clock sounds on that dark September morning, meaning returns. It is hard to give up the warmth of bed for the cold reality of another school year, but when bed is surrendered, habit takes over. Showering, getting dressed and eating breakfast form the routine that marks a day of school. Standing for the bus, a familiar feeling arises, a feeling of excitement and of apprehension. During the ride one wonders if he will ever arrive. But when the bus appr oaches the school, the image of the building in the morning ' s misty haze makes it all seem somehow un¬ real. inside the building the feeling remains. With students and faculty dashing around, the atmosphere is dream¬ like. The Sophomores, with concealed awe, try to mas¬ ter these unfamiliar halls in a frenzied attempt at being in the right place at the right time. With studied noncha¬ lance, the Juniors display their experience by discussing schedules and teachers. The Seniors, realizing that this is their final year, take time to renew old acquaintances. Onward the day proceeds, with confused directions, lunchroom pile-ups and mixed up schedules until the end of the day when the students realize it is over. The first day is now history and school has really begun. Mr. Plunkett lends a helping hand on Day One.
