It all had begun in its usual way, except that all thoughts were on Christmas day. Saint Plunkett was out running the show, as he sat and admired the lack of new snow. But the spirit was there, Mr. Rioux did say, his Outing Club trips were all under way. On stage Mr. Brown has opened the cur tain. His first winter production would be there for certain. In the yearbook room, there was spirit no doubt. Ms. Sjoblad put down the Christmas layout. With greeting cards NHS got into the act, with a mouse on skis, as a matter of fact. And if you wanted more there was chipmunk’s delight, but those little silver walnuts weren’t easy to bite. The art room was different in its own little way. Mrs. Kinsloe made some ornaments with her very own clay. The music choral groups had reached for each note As Ms. Radziewicz replied, and on this I do quote. “Sing real good is my only request!” Her Christmas concert was only the best! The band played some music with a lot of pizazz. For some look-a-like to Santa Claus they called Mr. Lazz. The excitement at Wapping reached a great height, as they tried to spray paint Mr. Cloutman’s beard white. They decided to stop, not getting too far. H is ho, ho, ho’s weren’t up to par. When Mr. White was asked what he wanted this year, he said, “You know — protons, neutrons, some chemistry gear.” Suddenly a man appeared out of no apparent sight with a bright red suit, and a beard all white. As he walked he kept bouncing, I made my best bet. It had to be Santa Claus! No, it’s Mr. Myette! Coach Sharos was asked if he wanted the same. This year his present was the big soccer game. Mr. Bordonaro sang Christmas songs to all kinds of folks, but at least it was better than listening to his jokes. When Mrs. Bickford was asked if she’d go visit her kin, She said she’d rather stay home with her own Kelly Lynn. Well, Christmas is coming, the biggest birthday they say. The Senior Class President was bom on that day. And so the season is here, just as the announcements have been, And the Christmas poet strikes again! — Bill Morrissette 159 VOCAL ENSEMBLE FIRST ROW: S. Elliott, S. Cologne, R. Sarvela, A.
