SQIIIOIS From the begmnmg, manv of the glrls as well as the bovs took an actlve part 1n athlet1cs In the F1eshman class there was no football team but durmg the next three 1ea1s our blg huskles and smalle1 speedste1s undex the capable d1rect1on of M1 Easlev d1d much to make OU1 team what 1t has been We also had ou1 share of men on the basketball team each year The t111ck and field eyents 1lI whlch we part1c1pated p1oyed the 111nn1ng and 1ump1ng ab1l1ty of some of the Sen1ors The Sen1or glrls basketball team calrled OII fo1 the last three yea1s w1thout a game lost The clas of 32 show ed poss1b1l1t1es of some evcellent mate11al f1om dra mat1cs 1n then nrst p1oduct1on All 011 a Summel s Day whlch was a part of the Follles 1n 1929 In 1930 as a pa1t of the Follles presented a sho1t Th1s was coached by M1ss Mary E Royer Several Sophomoles also took p11nc1pal palts 1n the fl1 st ope1etta The Jolly Ta1s glven by the Glee Club College Cut Ups glven durlng the later part of the Jun1o1 IOIS feel that we haue 111 ev e11 1espect llved up to the Ntdllddld 111 d1amat1cs set up by to1me1 classes And last but not least we come to the soclal events of the Se111o1 class Durmg the entlre four year course our class held five Weiner roasts Most of them were held at Death Valley but as far as we know everyone came back from them safe and sound, ex cept for a. weakened heart or two The class held a Halloween party every year They also attended one sponsored by the P T A 1n the Fresh man year A brand new 1dea was car11ed out ln the Sophomore year, when the class held a skatlng party at Mounta1n Beach Th1s only added to the reallzatlon that school seats were rather soft Another successful oc1al event attended 1n 1930 was a Valentlne party g1ven for the school by the Parent Teacher orgamzatxon lhe followmg month another party was held at the Commumty House Ill OUI Jun1or year soclal events were not qulte as heavy as the precedmg year but probably the most enjoyed 1unct1on ot the term was a p1cn1c held at Lamp Klme In splte of the ram the whole crowd had the best possible tlme Ihe outstandmg event was the Jun1or Prom g1ven on the evenmg of class day 1n 1931 .32 Besldes the we1n er roast and Hallowe en party already m ntloned the Sen1ors entertamed the Jun1ors at the Commumty House IVIISS Houtz furnlshed the Sen1or re neshments fOl the evenmg whlch was greatly
