This has been a year filled with many activities and pleasant memories for the 26 freshmen who entered South Wayne High School on August 30th. Before the second semester started, we lost one of our classmates, Beverly Ommodt. Then we gained a classmate, Gerry Workinger. The day we dreaded most was approaching rapidly. It was Initiation. We were put through all sorts of antics. The main feature of the day was a party at which the freshmen and new teachers entertained every 0116. The freshman class was very active in music, sports and forensics. Row Row Row Row FRESHMAN CLASS J. Moe, J. McConnell, Y. Stauffer, J. Hammer, S. Thoreson, B. Ommodt. J. Simonson Mr. Uebel, R. As the year slipped by, we gained three new members to our class. They are Ronna Smith, a transfer from New Glarus, Gerald Meier and Gerald Hawkinson, both transfers from Gratiot, The biggest thrill our class had was initiating the freshmen on October 1. They looked very funny. On the night program, along with initiating the freshmen, we got to initiate two of our new teachers. After the program, records were played and refreshments were served. Our class was well represented in the various activities, such as sports, band, chorus and forensics.
