“Lollipops and Roses” Survives Snow! The Student Council sponsored Christ- mas Dance was cancelled due to incli- mate weather. “A Frosty Fantasy” was to have music from Chaser and to be held on December 12. In spite of the weather, the 1981 Christmas King, Andy Maguire was crowned during half time of the Staunton basketball game by Janice Reed. “Lollipops and Roses” drew many cou- ples to the dance floor creating a roman- tic atmosphere. The 1982 Sweetheart Dance held on February 13th caught many couples discoing to the sound of WPFR until the magic hour of midnight. The dance is annually sponsored by the newspaper staff. Reigning over the event were Seniors Steve Edris and Jeanna Banks, the 1982 Sweetheart King and Queen. Sweetheart King Steve Edris and Queen Jeanna Banks dance their dance.
