A Touch Of Class ... Meet the South Vermillion Coquettes. Just what do the Coquettes do They ac- company the band during area band con- tests, parades, and sorting events. Pre- senting the half-time shows for sporting activities is only a small part of being a coquette. There is a lot of behind-the- scenes hard work that few people realize. The Coquettes try to present a different routine for each performance. This re- quires daily rehearsals sixth hour, after school and often on weekends and vaca- tions. This is a great responsibility since the coquettes do not have a choreo- grapher. Once they start practice sixth hour, the girls are on their own to create the original dances enjoyed by everyone. This year the SV Coquettes attended the Fred J. Miller Camp during the summer. Although many of the girls suffered through sore muscles, blisters, and sun- burns, the learning of new routines made it all worthwhile. 1981-82 Coquettes: (Front) Susan Roskovensky, Cathy Jackson, Rose Timmons, Jennifer Gibson, Gina Graham, Cathy Scott, Janice Reed.
