Keeping up with the happenings at SV was a tough job but was handled well by the “Wildcat” newspaper staff. Reporters were assigned stories and had to dig up the facts before the Friday deadline. Co- Editors Joe Everhart and Lori Harpel took it from there to produce the final edition. Overseeing the entire process was Mrs. Marilyn Hawkins, staff advisor. Work began early on Old Gold and Black as Co-Editor Steph Hendrix and Sports Co-Editor Jami Malone attended the American Yearbook Company’s work- shop at Hanover College. The big money maker for the staff was the traditional Wine Garden Dance held during the Little Italy Festival. September caught Old Gold and Black staff members selling ads to local merchants in order to finance the book. Like in newspaper, deadlines are of the utmost importance as workers strug- gled to meet them. Editors, Danielle Helt and Steph Hendrix and staff advisor Mrs. Joyce York supervised the production of the 67th edition of Old Gold and Black. ■Yearbook Staff: (Front) Tami Hesler. Teppi Green.
