Spooks and Goblins created a sinister atmosphere at the Halloween party held in the gymnasium Mr Haney the cla s sponsor arranged a Card Party and a Skating Party with many ups and downs The greenies found new delight in sports since the f otball and basketball teams were tops After several eliminations they found themselves a smaller but might ner class Now they were Sophs Effects of the election were President Howard Duffield Vice President Virginia Baker Secretary Ruth Johnson Treasurer George Shallenberger The Sophomores over ron the greatest social whirl of the year the Prom A Get Together party and a Skating party prompted envy from the Juniors Next we entered into our Junior y ar After a wide spread campaign the cabinet consisted of President Howard Duffield Vice President George Shallenberger S cretary Ruth Johnson Treasurer Virginia Baker Before the war changed the jolly Juniors into more serious-minded stu- dents they tripped the light fantastic at two lively Square Dances. After much feuding and verbal differences they selected a suitable class ring. The decision- No Prom --caused long faces for a time but everyone survived. As Seniors only lZ9 remained to compete for graduation glories. Election returns this time proved the winners to be: President Howard Duffield V'ce President George Shallenberger Secretary 7 ,, 7 Virginia Baker Treasurer S S Daniel Mihalko Because of world conditions they were unable to hold many activities with the exception of a Fall Dance. The hi-lights of the year included senior pictures, name cards and announcements. The Senior Banquet, Class Night, Baccalaureate, and Graduation concluded our experiences at South Union, in l943.
