The orchestra, now under the supervis- ion of Mr. Clifford Brown, consists of 44 members. lt is made up of students from the freshmen, sophomore, junior, and sen- ior classes. The orchestra meets the fourth period every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. lts purpose is to give boys and girls a chance to develop their talent by participating in the playing of good music. The organization is a valuable asset to the school and makes numerous appearances at assemblies and public performances. GIRLS CHORUS The Girls Chorus was organized by Mr. Clifford Brown in the year I934, and became a regular class in l936. Since then, the chorus has been very active in giving various programs at schools and over the radio. The Chorus is divided into two groups. The first consists mainly of Freshmen who spend the year in getting acquainted with chorus work. The second is made up of girls who have had at least one year of cho- rus work, most of the Seniors have had three or four years. The outstanding performance of this year was a delightful Cantata given by the chorus and public speaking classes just before Christmas vacation. 2, LIFE IN
