AUTUMN FOOTBALL From the spills and thrills of the l94O-4l season, S. U. H. S. emerged victorious twice and vanquished five times. Since the team was composed of much green material, Coaches Fagler and McKee had to build from the ground up. Point Marion and Dunbar more than met their match, the an- cient rival, North Union, won only after a bitter battle. Playing their last game for S. U. H. S. were Alex Rusnak, Harry Kelley, Harry McCarthy, Charles Holland, and Warren Burks. We salute them for we know that they gave their all for South Union. Personnel of the team: POS. L. Both the music and appearance of this organization have thoroughly upheld South Union's reputation of being a dependable attrac- tion. Pretty majorettes and expert twirlers gave the band a decidedly bright color. Most of the football games held an added zest because of the peppy tunes and intricate maneuvers of the band. The forming of letters played an important part in the band's marching this year, and many spectators thrilled to see their school initials formed by our band, a gesture of true sportsmanship. The bond consisted of 55 members. ,TENNIS CLUB The South Union High School Tennis Club, sponsored by Mr. H. C. Dills has thirty-four members. In the fall, activity was cut short by bad weather but the spring months featured interclass tournaments. Among the outstanding players are Elmo Bollman, a senior who has belonged for three years, Clarence Lohr, Georges Jenkins and Luella Hovanec and Martha Piovarchy who played girl doubles in the tournaments.
