4 Q4 THE E XGLE Calendar for School Year 1935-1936 Septem ber Tue.-3-The freshies take it on the chin. Wed.-4-Teachers make first large assignments. Thurs.-5-Freshies still asking Where they belong. Fri.-6--The football team's first scrimmage. Mon.-9-The South. Union Unmounted Patrol went on duty. Tue.-10-Students still sweating under large assignments. Wed.-11-Freshmen boys try flirting with Senior girl's. Thurs.-12-Nothing happened. Fri.--13-Everything went wrong, including our lessons. Mon.-16-Things are becoming somewhat settled. Tue.-17-Years ago today our great, great, great, grandads adopted our Consti- tution. Wed.-18-Classes start to elect officers. Thurs.-19-Rain today. Fri.-20--Played North Union. What a game! Score 6-6. Mon.-23-Eagle Staff organized. Tue.-24-Miss Van Zandt looked for Little George . Fri.-27-Beat Masontown for the first win of the season. 7-0. Mon.-30-One of Miss Dixson's cakes fell and broke two of her toes. October Wed.-2-Miss DiXson's still nursing her toes. Thurs.-3-Believe it or not! Big test in English. Fri.-4-Took German by a score of 13-0. Mon.-Nothing Happened. Tue.-8-Ditto. Wed.-9-Juniors selected rings. Fri.-11-Lost a hard-fought mud battle to Georges by a score of 13-0. Mon.-14-Blue Monday! Wed.-16-Fire alarm sounded and of course everyone stopped to get his books. Fri.-18-Played another tie game with Connellsville. Score 6-6. Sun.-20-Everybody went to church, including Conn . Tue.-22-Ray Cole discovered O in water. Fri.-25-Played our third tie game with I. C. Score 0-0. Mon.-28-Mr. Herbert. Bryan Went to a Halloween Party dressed as Humpty Dumpty- Ccracked, you knowl. Wed.-30-Believe it or not, Jackie Van Gilder whipped Don Morris in a ten-round bout. Thurs.-31-Some freshies got scaredat a Halloween Party and went home crying for mama. November Fri.-1-November came in drizzling. Mon.-4-Students preparing for one day vacation. Tues.?5-Election day. No school. Fri.-8-Suffered the worst defeat of the season to Redstone. Score 25-0. Mon.-11-Mr. Dills organized the Debating Team. Wed.-13-The Unmounted Patrol arrested some persistent hall-walkers. Fri.-15-South Union Warriors enjoyed field day. Won! 33-0. Wed.-20-Seniors selected jackets and pennants. Thurs.-21-Seniors split in two teams to sell magazines. Army and Navy. Fri.-22-Juniors held a chain party. Successful. Mon.-25-Miss Curstead broke two broom handles While cleaning the office. Wed.-27-Students dieting for turkey day . Thurs. and Fri.-28--Thanksgiving vacation.
