F. H. A. Future Homemakers of America — for many South Stanly girls these words awake pleasant memories. What were the highlights of ' 66 for F.H. A. members ? I enjoyed the skit on morals , says one. The Miss South Stanly Pageant! says another. The stage decor- ations, the excitement, the talent — I won ' t forget those. I remember how hard I worked to get my chapter degree, muses another. Being a Red Rose girl of the month, smiles another, that was my most pleasant memory. 22

The newspaper staff .prima- rily composed of journalism stu- dents, published the ' 66 editions of The Rebel Rouser. Nancy Dean was editor and Jimmy Avett was business man- ager. Miss Ball advised, consoled, reprimanded, and ur- ged onward. Perhaps the highlight of the year for the staff was the campaign that they undertook to change the policy of ordering class rings. As a direct result of the newspaper ' s stand the school ring policy was amended.

F. F. A. The highlights of the year for F.F.A. members were many. They attended the state fair in Raleigh, treated themselves and guests to a weiner roast, participated in tool, soils, swine, beef cattle and dairy cattle contests. The members look forward to summer camp at White Lake.
