Thirty-seven seniors of the South Sioux City High School qualify for the 32nd Annual University of Nebraska Regents Scholarship Com- petition which were given on Wed., Nov. 2, 1960. On the basis of examination scores, approximately 300 high ranking students were selected as winners of the Regents Scholarships for 1960. Students in the upper third of their graduating class qualify for the examination. Those qualifying from South Sioux City are: R. Albenesius, R. Conway, J. Badger. K. Bartels, V. Beller, S. Blessing, J. Armour, E. Corkin, J. Curl, M. Dais, R. Derby, J. Franco, S. Keefer, L. Matney, L. Merriman, S. Metz, P. Miller, L. Mogensen, D. Oehler- king, S. Parks, D. Persinger, J. Reed, D. Rickwa, A. Rohde, M. Schuldt, K. Sierk, C. Stevens, N. Stewart, W. Stull, D. Suter, J. Sween, and K. Wilson. Regents Winner: LARRY MERRIMAN

Honor Society The Honor Society honors those who have achieved scholastically and who rank in the upper twenty-five and ten per-centile of their classes. Members of the National Honor Society are selected on the basis of academic grades averaged over all four years of high school. They are also chosen by the four points - scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Allen Beermann, a 1958 member of the chapter, installed the new members. Chancellor Clifford Hardin of the University of Nebraska spoke on Scholarship and College.
