The students partici- pated in tournaments at the University of South Dakota, at Vermillion, Wesleyan College at Lin- coln, Sioux City Central, Morningside College, and the Nebraska State Debate Tournament at Nebraska University. The four finalists are L. to R: Ronnie Rapp, Ruth Stinger, Sharon Do- Mars, Allen Beermann. All Seniors who took Government and Problems this year, wrote orations on the Constitution of the United States. Of these students, nine memorized them for the American Legion Oratory Contest. The four finalists who competed on the local level are pictured above. The winner of this contest and the district win- ner was Allen Beermann, who is being congratulated by Victor Hanson of the South Sioux City Legion Post NO. 307 in the picture at the right. —52—
