The “S” Club is a school sponsored organization. Its pur- pose is to stimulate interest in atiiletics and to promote a well rounded athletic program for tlir South Sioux Cit) High School. l o earn an'“S” in sports a boy must participate in at least 12 quarters of football, at least 1 3 of all combined quarters of basketball, or he must earn 12 points on his own in track. After receiving an “S’ a boy is shown respect and honor by all underclassmen and also giving them inspiration to parti- cipate in sports. The Pep Club The South Sioux City High School Pep Club has 88 active members up to date, and is noted as one of the finest organizations of its kind in this area. A pep club member must pay dues according to the cost of admission to all football and basketball games, home and away. The Pep Club Council consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and class repre- sentatives. The Council takes action in elimination of those who disobey the rules. South Sioux’s Pep Club is the only pep club in this locality that charters busses to all out of town games. The expense is paid from profits of the con- session stand for home games and the after-school canteen. An approximate total of $1500 a year is consumed in chartered busses. The Cardinal emblem is also furnished by the club itself. Pep Club membership is open to any boy or girl in high school who is interested in a worthwhile organi- zation that forms the backbone of a good team and school. P. Orton, Soph. Rep.; P.
