Johnson. 0ounty overnmen On February 13, the school elected eleven juniors to par- ticipate in County Government Day at the County seat, Dakota City, on February 16. There along with representatives from the other high schools in the county, they learned the duties of the office to which they had been elected. Mr. Learing was this year's sponsor of County Government Day in South Sioux City, a job formerly done by Mrs. E. N. Swett.

CYl tion l clucaticn TOeefe National Education Week was observed in South Sioux City with the local associa- tion sponsoring the weeks activities, No- vember 7—11. These activities included an open house held in all schools. Letters of invitation were sent to parents and members of the Chamber of Commerce inviting them to visit and inspect their schools. Mr. Floyd Parker, of Nebraska State Education Association, spoke to members of the Chamber in the afternoon and to the par- ents and interested people in the evening. His subject was School Building of Ne- braska.” The purpose of National Education Week and Education Business Day is to promote the idea that the school and town play a very important part in the development of children who will soon play a very important part in the development of a fast growing community.
