R. Vondracek, director rubileatci This year the Jubilesta, an annual production of the Music Department, was dedicated to Mr. Swett, who is retiring as Superintendent of Schools after 34 years of faithful and loyal service. It was entitled This is Your Life, Mr. Swett”. With student body and faculty cooperation the theme was kept a secret from Mr. Swett until the last moment. Mrs. Swett and Miss Vondracek worked toget- her to produce an accurate living biography of Mr.Swett’s life. Following is a list of surprise visitors who were introduced as a part of the program. Mr. Swett's brothers EARL of Chadron, Nebr. and LEONARD of Ainsworth, Nebr.(MRS. LENA KENYON, his sister of Ainsworth, his niece, MARILYN SWETT of Ainsworth and his son and daughter-in-law, MR. and MRS. ROBERT SWETT of Lincoln, Nebraska. CHAUNCEY SMITH of Lincoln, Nebr. the superintendent under whom Mr. Swett first taught in Grafton, Nebraska, ANDREW SCHAF of Ponca, Nebr. a former schoolmate of Mr. Swett, BILL LEE of Ord, Nebr. former editor of the Dakota County Star, M. M. LOTHROP and DR. FREDERICK WAGNER of Sioux City, former students of Mr. Swett at Homer, Nebr., the following former prin- cipals under Mr. Swett here in South Sioux City; MARGARET RYAN of Sioux City, JOHN HANSEN of Sioux City, RALPH KILZER of South Sioux City, and PAUL MILLER of Columbus, Nebr. and our present principal, J. R. STICKELS. An extra added surprise package during the course of the program was a long distance telephone call from Battle Creek, Michigan from former Governor of Nebraska and present Civil Defense Commissioner of the United States, Val Peterson, who called to offer his good wishes and congratulations to Mr. Swett.

Watson Publicity —S. Jonas, P. Reed, N. Wood CUPID IN PIGTAILS On April 29, in the high school auditorium, the Senior Class presented the three act farce, CUPID IN PIGTAILS, by Jay Tobias. The play depicted a typical American widow trying to de- cide between two suitors, with her twelve year old daughter constantly plotting against her. A happy climax was reached through the able assistance of THE MAD BUTCHER, and all tangles were straightened out. The play was a huge success.
