Sue Mumy, the secretary, observes the action at the Philo Christmas Party play . . . Come on, baby, let's do the jerk, say these students as they help support the school functions by their attendance at the after-game dances. The dances are held in the cafeteria and are sponsored by the clubs of South as a means of making money. Recreation is a vital aspect of Sout h Side life, necessary to balance the greater demands made on the mind and spirit hy other endeavors; such inner renovation is constantly in ever-changing, ever-unique progress. 12
