Typifying today's misconception of Thanksgiving, Mary Collins, Bob Griffiths, Susie Bumgardner, and Mike Levy try to convey the true meaning of the November holiday to the student body during the Thanksgiving Assembly last fall. Whooping it up in appreciation of the first feast of Thanksgiving, these Indians provide a con- trast to today's celebration of the national holiday. Creativity . . . While trying to convince Pro- fessor Van Blowhard of their tal- ent, John Margerum, Brian Ben- nington, Tom Thieme, and Dave Zimmerman entertain the student body at the annual Talent Show. 18

Ruthie Russ and Julie Rhinehart, who are working behind the refreshment counter, serve Miss Pauline Van Gorder at the Meterite after-game dance. Diligently working on decorations for the Queen of Hearts Dance are Hi-Y members Gene Jacobs, Jack Harms, George Shull, Larry Allen, and Dennis McBroom. Enraptured by the mood of their junior prom, Athenian Allure, are John Biteman, Sharon Bass, Penny Yore, Chuck Weinraub, Flip Anderson, John Wilks, Judy Schumm, Stan Redding, and Sally Mallough. 17

Christ's disciples, portrayed by students, discuss His life at the Easter Assembly and try to relate it to modern day situations. The newest shaggy dog story? Not really. It's just Diane Irmscher and Pam Olson haunting the halls while waiting to present their dance in the Christmas Assembly. All I want for Christmas is ... a jack-in-the-box! exclaims Ricky Meeks to Jeanie Carroll in a department store scene pre- sented at the Christmas Assembly.
