Directions for Applying Holter Moniter 8 Supplies Needed Holter Batteryfcharged to 14-hold for 30 sec.l Acetone 1 Disposable electrode Electrodes Tape for Holter Adhesive tape with rough edge Small gauze squares Scissors Wind tape on the Holter C30 revolutionsl Insert battery Determine patients skin conditionf if oily use flat electrodes 8 elasticon tape--if regular use disposable electrodes and I transpore tape 0 Cf Thoroughly' clean areas where electrodes are to be placed with acetone-- scrub till red-Y this is very important --if not cleaned properly you will not achieve good contact. Positions for the 5 electrodes: knob on collar bone both right 8 left A bottom of ribs on right side 1 V1 8 V5 T A All-electrodes are to be placed on the bone. The electrodes are color coded and applied in this order: FLAT ELECTRODES Blue- left clavicle Orange- V1 Nhite- right clavicle Green- Right ribs Wg Red- V5 DISPOSABLE ELECTRODES NHITE- Right clavicle ORANGE- V1 ' BLACK- Left clavicle BRONN- V5 GREEN- Right ribs f' ' Attach electrodes properly and securewith tape all wiring and control: Once electrodes are plugged into control and machine is set you may start recording by flipping switch to the on position, lock the recorder and proceed to tape wiring down. After wiring is all taped down place recorder in the case and lock. Give patient diary and explain thoroughly as to what is needed in order to make the proper evaluation when the tape is scanned. Be sure to record starting time and plan to remove Holter 25 hours later. when using the flat electrodes apply small ammount of electrode jel to the metal surface of the electrode. Use only small ammount. A When Holter is removed clean well with alcohol and for better contact the next time the flat electrodes are used use typewriter eraser on the metal surface, be sure to get all the eraser particles out of electrode. '
