IUNICB BED CBCSS CLUB Under the guidance of a new sponsor, Mr. H. lr Parish, the Iunior Bed Cross Council of South Side High School was organized for the new school year in the latter part of Septern- ber, l94O. Virginia Thurmond was chosen president to lead the council, Other officers elected were Mary Elizabeth Morthland viceepresident, Mildred Beeman secretary, Marion Beard treasurer, Elizabeth Thurmond and Helen Beeman co-chairmen of program and social com- mittees, and Fred Creasy, reporter. The representatives entered into the Boll Call Program whole-heartedly. With this new idea, the Honor Boom System at South Side was soon rated lUU:s in membership, For a Christmas project, the group again adopted the Brooks Memorial School in Canoe, Kentucky.
