She loves English as well as football and softball. Poochic's also a member of “The Flaming Hearts. YVONNE FRANKLIN I know it. but can you cop? cries Vonnie. who plans to become a private secretary. She enjoys watching Peyton Place and listening to “You've Got to Earn It. She is a member of the Service Club. Football is one of her favorite sports. CONRAD FREEMAN To go to drafting school is next on the agenda for Conrad. Basketball and football arc his favorite sports; jazz is his favorite music. He enjoys listening to The Last Train from Overbrook. by Charlie Baker. Gene Barry is the actor he loves to watch. His favorite subject is mechanical drawing. MARGIE FRAZIER MARTHA FREEMAN “AH that's good! exclaims Martha, a member of the Supreme Debs S.C. Dancing is what she docs in her spare time; gym is her preferred subject, and rock 'n' roll her favorite music. Her top sports arc football and basketball. She enjoys watching “Peyton Place. DOROTHY GADSON Oh yea! replies Dot. who plans to attend an IBM, PBX typing schopl. She listens to jazz, gospel and rock 'n' roll in her spare time. Math has her main attention. along with business machines and bookkeeping. She enjoys watching Bewitched on TV. 25

HELEN EVANS To be a secretary is Helen's ambition. She finds pleasure in sewing, reading, bowling, and dancing. For sports Helen watches basketball and football. Sean Connery and Carol Baker are her movie stars. Ain't That Peculiar and Hole in the Wall are top tunes. AUGUSDINE FENN Augic” avers It ain't hardly nice. Nursing school is a goal she's set. In South Side she has preferred Mixed Chorus and U. S. History. Augusdinc listens to both rock 'n' roll and Spirituals. Going to a Go-Go is her top tune. “I Spy is her program. RUFUS FISHER Rufus is known as Walking the dog Fisher. His hobby is basketball. He is in the History Club and Library Staff. History is his favorite subject. His favorite on TV is Where the Action Is. After graduation he plans to be a salesman. JAMES FLACK The Pro says, I will succeed in Howard. His favorite subject is U.S. history. You'll find him listening to Papa's Got a Brand New Bag.” He might be looking at The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” He goes for Joan Crawford and Lee Marvin in a big way. ROSEMARY FLANAGAN An enthusiast for typing and steno. Rose plans on holding a secretarial position after high school. Unchained Melody is her favorite song. She finds Peyton Place quite interesting to watch on TV. Her most admired actors are Tony Curtis and 007 agent Scan Connery. 24

MARGARETTA GARLAND Well, hello! is Ihc greeting of Shorty. A prospective laboratory technician, she's been a cheerleader and senior scout. Read ing and listening to records have been rewarding hobbies. This library staff member enjoys The Long Hot Summer and Paul Newman's acting efforts. ROBERT GATE WOOD What's happening? asks Bobby. For him the happening will be joining the Air Force and advancing toward a career in communications engineering. History is his top subject; baseball, basketball, and football are sports he likes plaving. Relaxation: I Spy. Dick Van Dyke Show. CAROL GARREI SON Carol thinks “Ain't nothing to it. and that's why she plans to attend designing school. She is a member of the Service Club and Sigma Theta Phi. Her favorite sound is I'll Always Love You. Her favorite TV program is 'Man from U.N.-C.L.E.” NELLIE GAVIN Nellie frequently quotes from St. Paul: The things I wish to do are the things that I don't, and the things that I shouldn't do are the things I do. French and typing are her favorite subjects. She enjoys listening to rock 'n rdl. RITA GAVIN Rita plans to become a secretary and spends her spare time sewing. Mathematics and typing are her favorite subjects. She enjoys rock ‘n’ roll, her preferred song being A House is Not a Home. However, religion is her deepest concern. VIVIAN GENERAL Judy says, All that's good. She plans to attend a college for teaching. She likes reading and singing. Judy belongs to the Creative Club. F.B.L.A. and the Junior Red Cross. Her favorite subjects arc accounting and U.S. history. She is President of the Junior Red Cross.
