Dear Graduates, Be grateful for the doors of learning which South Side has opened for you. Step through these doors into the exciting realm of knowledge. This means—continue to read, to study, to think, and to inquire throughout your life. Do not measure success only in terms of wealth. Success which brings real happiness must be measured in terms of education and service to humanity. May this kind of happiness be yours. 1 shall remember you always. Your friend, LEO LITZKY, Principal ADMINISTRATION “We Shall Overcome” is a great theme for the class of June, 1965. I hope sincerely that the education you have gained at South Side will be a keen-edged weapon to cut down the barriers of ignorance and prejudice and help you to overcome historic obstacles to advancement. May the knowledge, skills, and attitudes you have learned here enable you to fling open the doors of opportunity and enter broader realms of freedom, happiness, and security. MAURICE FRIEDMAN Vice Principal 3
