BETTY MASON EUNICE Me KNIGHT We hope Eunice’s motto applies to her ambition to become a registered nurse. Says she: Today we sail on the seas of ambition; tomorrow we land on the shore of success.” She is known and loved as Student Banker, member of Library Staff and Cirls’ Glee Club. f MARY ANN MERWIN Skating, dancing, and reading are favorite hobbies of Mary Ann. She’s enthusiastic about mathematics, especially geometry, and plans to attend Newark State folicge at Union. She has been a member of Service Club and class executive committees. Why Li I’m in the Mood for Love ’ her favorite song? A Senator, Betty is on the Library Staff. You must he a fool she says, but we know Betty isn’t. Planning to take a course in practical nursing, she's a rock 'n roll and modem jazz fan. She’ll be playing tennis in her spare time. MOLLY GENEVA McMOORE Jean’s expectation is that she’ll be a typist or file clerk. A Library Staffer, she belongs to Jazz Club, sings in a choir. Jazz and rock 'n roll are musical staples. Basketball and tennis are her sports. She’s proud to be a part of the March on Leukemia. DOROTHY McCRAY Church choir-singer Dotty” has been a member of Mixed Chorus and Girls’ Glee Club, a regular in the Spanish Club. Her aim is to study dress designing at the Essex County Vocational School. Naturally, Clothing has been her choice class. What’s to it? she asks. VERA METCHNIK “You only live once,” says Vera. National Honor Society membership attests to her intelligence; 3A class secretaryship shows she’s jtopular. History, tennis, ice skating, swimming, and popular music arc some of her favorites. Adventures in Paradise” is her TV choice. Nursing is the career she’s picked. 23

ARLENE LEVELL “Lean’’ loves skating and the movies (especially Jeff Chandler), has enjoyed U. S. history and all her math courses. She sings in her church choir and is active in C.Y.O. Senator anti Service Club member, she isn’t sure about whether to be a nurse or business woman. DONALD KONDROSKI Don plays on the Soccer Team, enjoys football, baseball, and basketball also. Science and Biology Clubs hold his interest and point to his future career, work in electronics. His hobby is customizing cars; his recreations, listening to itopular music, watching TV thrillers. CATHERINE LAWRENCE For this Senator and future social workers Library Staff and La Vogue Ladies have been interesting activities. Cathy likes to watch basketball, enjoys jazz, Jeff Chandler’s acting, sewing. She goes for TV programs, especial-I “Twilight Zone,” “Shotgun Slade, and Bergen Street Beat.” DALE EMILY LAYTON “TonT is a member of the Choir and Dramatic Club of Sew Hope Baptist Church. Spanish Club, Algebra, and Typewriting have l een South Side favorites. She likes surprise ending of Alfred Hitchcock TV thrillers; aims for Hampton Institute or a modeling school. CAROL L© DOUX Bowling and collecting records are favored hobbies of ' Snookie.” She s jyartial to “Till the End of Time” and “Tonight, Tonight. ’ Regarding classes, she gives the nod to Health, U. S. History, and English. After graduation she intends to head for business school and an office career. THELMA MARCH Member of Polynesians, F.B.L.A., and Twiners, “TheI” sings in Mixed Chorus and the Antra-tones Singing Group. She’s enjoyed Y.W.C.A., Typewriting, Stenography, and English. Sewing and record collecting are hobbies. Her sports are swimming, tennis, and skating. Business college beckons for Thelma. 22

ABRAHAM MICKENS YVONNE PATTERSON Sfnce Vonnto always says, Tell it as it is,” we will. She’s a happy listener to rock ’n roll atul popular music. During her snare time, you might find her looking at “The Untouchables.” In sports it’s football or basketball for South Side’s future typist. To Bobby post-gradnation includes the goal of becoming a n’ice officer. History and Eng-have been the most engrossing subjects for this fan of jazz, baseball, and football. Beading is Abraham’s main recreation. He lists Clark Gable and Jane Wy-man as acting favoritics. EDWARD PARSONS Eddie's favorite saying is There you go! He plans to go to the Marine Corps. He’s had fun singing in The Sunremes,” listening to jazz, especially Austin’s Danny Boy. Football and basketball arc sports he enjoys watching. Same can be said of Lana Turner. HATTIE LOUISE MILLER A real songster, Dimvy” serves in Madrigals, Mixed Chorus, Senior Girls Glee Club, and Young People's Choir of Hopewell Baptist Church. Optimist Staff. Hilltop Recorder, and The Boosters have benefited from her skills, as has Girls’ Softball Team. A Chemistry fan, she hopes to attend Virginia State College. STANLEY WALTER OMELCZUK Originality and Individualism First ‘ is Walt’s motto. A member of the Keansburg CYO, he Cys guitar and writes songs as bies. U.S. History and English arc class favorites. Basketball, swimming, horseback riding, and ice skating are sjiorts choices. Instrumental music moves him. JOCELYN MOORE A business career is just around the corner for Jocelyn who’s a member of Service Club, a singer in Mixed Chorus, and a sjrnrk-plug of the Cheerleaders. This Senator likes English, Stenography. and Bookkeeping among school subjects. Skating and basketball are her favorite sports.
