JEWEL MOVEMENT.... A Diamond For Dependability It was an old Roman satirist who once wrote: “The noiseless foot of time steals swiftly by, And ere we dream of manhood, age is nigh.’ Time, that most inexorable of masters, brooks no turn-abouts--dots the eternal with an infinity o( “points of no return.’ Yet the human mind and spirit, unconquerable, flings shining bridges across deep chasms and, behold, the gleaming treasures of the past lie at our feet! Truly, we shall live it over again if we continue, throughout our lives, to be guided by the noblest in vision, courage and wisdom distilled out of the alchemy of countless ages of human experience. Here at South Side, you graduates have, for four fruitful years, lived “with the ages . May you continue, throughout life’s Journey, to live it over again” in terms of unceasing loyalty to the noblest human ideals--making, along the way, your own contributions to human progress. In the journey which lies ahead, 1 bespeak you all good fortune and happiness. FRED LANDOLPHI Principal

JEWEL MOVEMENT.... A Sapphire For Accuracy The clock strikes midnight; the old day ends; the new day begins! What does the dawn of your new day, the commencement of your life in the adult world, hold in store? You are not timid and afraid. You are not reluctant to leave the familiar and secure halls of your Alma Mater. Upon careful consideration, you realize that actually you are eager to pass on to new challenges and achievements. For, youth is essentially adventuresome and courageous, anxious to play its part in the world and to make it a better place in which to live. Fortified with the knowledge that you have received good training and leadership here at South Side, you will be well prepared for new endeavors when Father Time starts the new day, your day upon the stage of time. My wish is that you play your part well, with happiness and success, a credit to yourself and to all of those who have in some measure contributed to your growth and development. JOSEPH CELIANO Vice-Principal
