Pollack, L. Tombacher. Three groups in the athletic department - Leaders' Club, ritle squad, and the bowling team - gave many boys an opportunity to participate in sports. South Side's Leaders' Club aids physical education instruction by supervising gym classes. During the winter members serve as ushers and ticket collectors at all home basketball games. South Side's Rifle Squad practiced three times a week in its basement range supervised by Mr. Dyas. Although braced by the return of several lettermen from last year's Championship squad, the team finished with a mediocre record. Outstanding for the nimrods were seniors E. Oexle, G. lnkeles and L. Greenberg. Lacking experience, this year's bowling team failed to attain its fullest potential. Outstanding for Mr. J. Small's Cyclone keg- lers were J. Rashbuam and L. Munzer. N Mr. Thomas O'Shea's South Side Cindermen, peren- nial powerhouses in Section Two, have the potential and leadership to capture the Section Two Champion- ship. The runners Ied by Paul Greenberg, John Kafka, and Bob Dotzler, should improve from last yecir's dis- appointing showing.
