All the work that was done in the art department this year led up to the Field Day Demonstration, which was held in May at Washing- ton High School. Attempting to interest the students in the various fields of music is the main job of this department. South Shore accomplishes this task by en- abling the student to select band, or- chestra, a choral group, or a general music course. As a result of their be- coming acquainted with the many pleasures a musical background offers, many students continue their studies, and music becomes an important part of their later life.
