ENGLIS Through the study of English comes the ability to express oneself. In order to accomplish this aim, it is necessary for a student to become well versed in such areas as reading, writing, speaking, and listening. These areas, representing the four goals of South Shore's English Department, are satisfied through the means of a three-level program including advanced placement, honors, average, and remedial classes. Such classes give every student the opportunity to work to the best of his ability. They also offer to those above-average students the opportunity to receive college credits while still in high school. llL'llCllIljJ,' Center students wait for the Hush of plurusvs on tht- SL'l'l'l'll while using tht- tnchisto- scope.
