The building of American Democracy is a gigantic enter prlse to which many have given are giving and will give their lives Today as never before the world looks toward Youth to rekindle the embers of Democracy into a roaring flame Yesterday Youth slowly and deliberately began to build a firm foundation for an Ideal government one that has lasted for over 150 years Today he is still laboring sweat ing working to obtain a true Democracy He has one tool Without it he could not continue to build without it that which he has labored so hard to erect would crumble This tool is education Tomorrow if he continues to move forward Democracy Walt Whitman expresses this In the following poem Sail sail thy best ship of Democracy Of value IS thy freight tis not the Present only The Past is also stored in thee he will completelhis task.
