CROSS COUNTRY The Cross-Country team is made up of Warriors who have the will and desire to run great distances. Vigorous training is needed to run the l.9 miles required. Our Water Polo Team is the only one in our Peninsula League, therefore they have to travel to the Southern Peninsula League. P. L. CHAMPIONS D BASKETBALL The D basketball team was the outstanding sur- prise of the basketball season. They played aggres- sive, spirited ball throughout the season while go- ing undefeated, Coached by Warren Hagberg, our lightweights performed brilliantly, and consistently in winning the first Championship of their long ca- reer. Outstanding players included, Dave Parenti, season captain, Harold Westmoreland, Mike York, Rich Mozzini, and Brian Cute. The swim team is made of boys who have to follow strict training rules. lf they run too much or get too active outside of the water they lose much of their coordina- tion. The strokes that are used are the back stroke, breast stroke, but- terfly, and free style. Also includ- ed in a swim meet are the divers who go through intricate motions and cut the water clean. THIRD ROW: Robert Moore, Don Henry, James Soals, Ed Garner, Dennis Spinelli, Robert Adams, Ed Nelson, Ken Jacobson, Mike Shelton, Roger Leavitt. The South City Wrestling team was outstanding throughout the season. They finished league play in third place with San Mateo and Capuchino first and second re- spectively. Our matmen achieved a great amount of success by placing four boys on the all P.L. Team. They were George Kanakaris, Alan Coon, Ed Elliott, and Tom Crespin. All four boys then competed in the N o r t h e r n California Wrestling Tournament bringing further honor to their school. Coach Ray De Jong should be proud of them all.
