The lightweights under Coach Warren Hag- berg showed improvement throughout the year and were always playing their hardest, The D's, however, didn't do so well in the standings but were always hustling. The C's, who earned a fairly good record, scored some thrilling victories during the season. Among them was an upset over Capuchino. The initiation these fellows received will stand them in good stead when they try out for the teams next year, C's LEAGUE SCORES S.S.F.. . , S.S.F.. . . S.S.F.. , . S.S.F.. . . S.S.F.. . . Still, it needn't be considered the worst, either. There were many potential stars developed and much spirit was shown throughout the season. Although the Papooses lost every game, not one of the games was a slaughter. Several games were lost as a result of one or two mistakes. All in all, the season was considered a success and there will be quite a few Papooses becoming Warriors in the near future, GAME SCORES Westmore 7 San Mateo 7 Burlingame 20 l-lillsdale 20 Jefferson l9 Backfield coach Tony Fardella

VARSITY Coach Bob Keropian BASKETBALL Anything can happen, was a good title for the l958 Varsity Basketball squad. Even though their record was dismal, it only tells half the story. South City scores were a lot better than their win-loss column. They nearly beat San Mateo, Capuchino, Hillsdale and Burlingame. They also lost a one- pointer to Westmore. This couIdn't go on all season and they proved it by de- feating Jefferson in the final game, 5l to 52.
