Scheduling is Somefimes l-lecric Amid moans and groans ar rhe rhoughr of classes and homeworls, rhere was an air of exciremenr as friends renewed old acquainrances in rhe Easf Balcony and downf srairs gym. This was rhe ormosphere ar rhe Seprember scheduling for juniors and seniors. Scheduling for sopho- mores and freshmen had been done rhe previous year by compurer. Arena scheduling for elevenrh and rwelfrh groders'in- volved srudenrs selecring rheir own classes, teachers and periods. A new sysrem was developed which improved public relarions berween faculry, srudenrs, and parenrs. Each feacher was assigned o small group of sfudenrs ro help rhem choose rheir classes and malse sure all of rheir credirs were being fulfilled. Before school began, if was possible ro have an individual conference wirh each srudenr and rheir parenrs ro discuss any problems which may have arisen. Senior, Brenda Bullocls, rhoughr rhar rhis program was grear. l'm glad we had someone ro help us, My parenrs really appreciated ir foo. lr seems rhey're showing more concern. Mr. Canronwine really helped me a lor and gave me good rips on whar classes ro false. This is rhe firsr year fhey've really gorren involved and l rhinls ir's a super ldea! Mr, Johnson's ottitude obout the seoson wos very optimistic. l believed thot we would be city chompionsf' stored Mr. Johnson. lt wos o greot seoson. One of South's best regulor seoson re- cords. The win over Corvollis put the teom in the Ieodfor the district title, Johnson soid, lt wos exciting, but much more exciting wos the foct thot they were ronlsed number one in store. Our ployers deserved to win, The win wos o gift to our footboll progrom, school, ond city of Solem, At the end of the gome, with the crowd flowing onto the field, it wos o tremendous sight ond feeling. The ployers' ottitudes of the seoson were very positive, 'lThey worlsed very hord oll lost yeor to become stronger, foster, quiclser, ond more slsilled.
