New student advisory committee created Two maior A,S.B. endeavors were a part of the program for the 1967-68 school year. At mid-year a five member Student Advisory Committee was appointed by President Gary Edmonds, and in May, a tour-member team represented South on the KGW Hi-Q program. The Advisory Committee was chosen to work with administrators on student problems. Three students of each class were selected. From the senior class were Harold Hutchinson, .lim Jones, and Andy Embick. Juniors were Lance Cooley, Dave Leslie, and Sue Zetterberg. Russ Roth, Mary Engleson, and Laury Lee were chosen from the sophomore class. The Hi-Q team consisted of two iuniors Ann Bartsch and John Tillman, and two seniors Kristy Russom and Don Shields, selected by a timed qualifying test against 18 other volunteers. Kim Seymour was alternate. They competed against Central High May 19 and Hillsboro High May 26. The squad defeated Central with a score of 250-180, and lost to Hillsboro 175-185.
