l f The outstanding A.S.B. project of the 1966 -67 year was International Awarness Week, during which the entire student body devoted their efforts to raising enough money to build a school in an underdeveloped country. Alan Holmer, chairman of the School to School Program, successfully led the student body in surpassing the thousand dollar goal set for the project. Louise Smith, co-chair- man, was assisted by Dave Burtner, Kathy Sullivan, Gail Achterman, Molly Hoffstetter, and Bill Carter. Mrs. Dunn and Mr. Cook ad- vised the activity. The week opened with an all school assemb- ly on Monday at which guest speakers were Secretary of State, Clay Meyers and John Binford, a Peace Corp worker from Ecuador. Other activities during the week included a Powder Puff Basketball ame, which raised one hundred and twenty dollars and a buffet dinner which provided three hundred dollars for the fund. Further amounts were the re- sults of collections taken during the Lan- uage and Social Studies classes throughout the rest of the week. By Friday the student body had raised S1550 for the Project and on that day the student body heard a tele- cast conversation between Al Holmer and Miss Joanne Silver, a member of the Peace Corp Staff in Washington D.C., who explained that the amount raised was enough for two schools A.S.B.
