At the annual football banquet, November 16, Guy Colby was named the most inspirational player on the Saxon football team. Teammates Gary Wright and Bret Adamson were named Lineman and Back of the year. During the season, senior quarterback Bruce Priem completed 71 passes for a .544 average and Bret Adamson netted 442 yards for a 4.2 average per carry. These performances, in Coach Marv Heater's words, were 'lvery outstanding. This year's Rebel defense held their opponents to 58 points and 1,193 yards while the offense scored 143 points and compiled 1,866 yards. This defense was tops in the district allowing an average of 132.6 yards and 8.2 first downs per game.
