THE QRIFLAMME THOMASINE LEPKOWSKI Tommy The depth of silence can never fully be realized until one meets Thomasine. We have an idea that she's President of the Anti-Talkers' Union . But then again we know she has sly humor which is used to an advantage, especially when some of the boys least expect it. That's all right, Tommy, we're all with you. JOSEPHINE LI VECCHI Jo The conference between Josephine and Miss Stevens has ended. Important business has been discussed. They have just invented a new walking step, known as the Li Vecchi Trot . It's quite the rage. But Jo has other accomplishments. Outstand- ing is her ability to pass out witty remarks, espe- cially in History class when we are being held spell- bound by one of Mr. Williams' orations. ANTHONY LIZEWSKI Shorty Presenting' the mighty atom of the Senior class. Believe it or not, Shorty is the one who gives the S. R. H. S. band that terrific volume. On being inter- viewed Shorty remarked, I owe it all to my little comet . Most of us are amazed and astounded to know that one small body can carry so much wind and quite a bit of knowledge too. E5 ZIP LOUISE LUITHARDT Toots Toots and her pal Ethel are the long and short of it in South River High. Thus, folks, if you see a long' and a short shadow strolling down Main Street, you'll know it's Toots and Ethel. It is rumored that Louise is interested in the ice business,-or is it the ice man? Let us in on it, Toots. Page twenty-seven

THE QRIFLAMME X CHARLES KOENIG Charlie The boy who has made a well worn path from Keyport to- Parlin. The Senior class can safely say that Charles can walk there in his sleep. However, why bother walking there, when sweet dreams ac- complish this in a jiffy. Contrary to the general idea, with a girl on your mind, a flunker you'll find , Charlie has succeeded in making the Honor Roll con- sistently. JOHN KONDUR Cave Man We feel certain that in future years John will always retain in his memory that famous hot dog roast by the lake. It was there that he acquired that very appropriate nickname of cave man. Those were the days. But don't mind what anyone says, Johnny. Not everyone can act natural and be a cave man at the same time. AURELIA KRYGIER Aurie Aurie is a striking example of a girl whose in- terests differ a great deal from her feminine sis- terhood. She is an authority on the race track. But, alas and alack, to our surprise Aurelia has left us to enter that blissful academy of marriage. It isn't along the racing track either. But then Aurie is an unusual girl. E3 E NANCY KULAKOVICH If silence is golden, Nancy must be oil' the gold standard. However, her talkativeness has an ad- vantage since she is so small that we wouldn't be able to know she was present otherwise. The class is usually in an uproar when she and Jimmy have their daily squabble. Nancy must be a good typist since she is a particular friend of Miss Kennedy. Page twenty-six

JOHN MAGIELN ICKI Napoleon Napoleon is our authority on women and how they should be kissed. He says, When I gets a girl, I treats her rough and she's gotta like it or scram . Napoleon showed his school spirit by going out for football. Although he didn't make the team, he was the ideal S. R. H. S. benchwarmer. Nap says that some day he will be a great chemist. ELLA MAKLARY Ability runs in all directions, and Ella's carries hers to the tune of music. When the lights are low and the melody sweet, she dances along as if float- ing in air. Ability in an altogether different direc- tion is Ella's boast also. She can keep remarkably silent on all occasions. It's a mystery to us, these unusual combinations. LILLIAN MANDAW Lil Lillian hails from the great metropolis of Hel- metta. She lived in New York once, but that was before the E. S. B. 1Ernpire State Buildingj. Felix says that Lil is the prettiest blonde in the class. That explains everything. In school, Lil acts as if she had lived in Helmetta all her life, but outside of school it's a New York story. L31 El El WILLIAM MASLANKA Bill Would you think from looking at the picture that Bill can blush? It's true. When the girls address him, the crimson stoplights appear. He and Mr. Mazza are pals. They put on a regular act every once in a while and the class sits back and snores. But Bill gets revenge. He misspells Mr. Mazza's name in his report of the Commercial Club meet- mg.
