THE QRIFLAMME HAROLD EMLEY . Harold is the class newsy . His only regret is that his paper route does not take him through Sayreville. However that doesn't prevent him from visiting that borough every Friday night. It's been Thelma and Harold for such a long time that to us when one of the names is mentioned we always in- variably think of the other. ETHYLE FABIAN Effie Ethyle is the girl whose aim in life is to travel. It seems that no matter where she sits, she manages to see the French marks and to report the results to the victims. Mrs. Franklin takes great pleasure in changing her seat, but there's no foiling Ethyle. She's always there with the goods. Seriously, how- ever, Ethyle intends to be a nurse. ANNA FRITSCH Ann Ann is one of the most attractive members of the senior class. She says that some day she will be a stenographer, and we think she will have no diffi- culty finding employment. Ann just loves to tease the High School chauffeurs. When they want to take her to a football game, she always chooses Bill and his little roadster. H El CHARLES GRODZKI Handsome I awoke and found that life is duty. Handsome wakes up now and then in French class long enough to pass a wise comment. However, he displayed his hidden spryness and alertness by going out for foot- ball. We have heard reports of a feminine member inf the picture. Can that be the inspiration? ago fwenfy-Iwo

THE ORIFLAMME . ELLA DREGER Ella is one of our Seniors who has suddenly sprung into prominence. Who ever heard of her way back in our freshman days? But we like the improvement. Ella is one of those girls who always have a snappv answer for any remark. She is also dramatically inclined and was a sensation as the maid in our Junior Play. ANNA DUROVICH Anne Anna is the type of person that one can seldom judge. She gives the impression of being very quiet and unconcerned, but impressions are often not reliable. Anne has a hobby of making friends through the mail. One of your good looking male pen pals might appear in person some day, Anne, and you're apt to get the shock of your life. BE El ROSE DUSCHOCK Before long there will be many men who will be eager to go to the hospital, for Rose is going to be a nurse. It is nurses like her that make hospitals popular. It has been said that Rose is greatly at- tracted to Perth Amboy for a certain male reason. Go easy, Rose, or you'll have to wait a long time for that promised trip. ANNA DUTTKIN Ann Ann is one of the members of our class who is always well dressed. Her conservatism is well ex- pressed in her clothes. Our recent French substi- tute believed a student was flattered to be asked the whys and wherefores of French. If that's true, Anna was extremely flattered, as her vocal chords were usually exercising during Ethel's translations. a m mummnn u ummm mum mm '- l 1 1 L, F In 1. f U flfff r 'IL ' -1 ff f , Page fweizty-one r J.. 4 f 4 :Av

THE ORIFLAMME EDWARD GRYZBEK Eddie .Meet the future President of the United States. Eddie can do anything from boiling a cucumber to making Betty's face red. He has taken parts and been a leader in all S. R. H. S. activities. When it comes to school spirit, Eddie has his colors flying high. He now is the favored candidate for presi- dent of the Sayreville Husbands' Union. Stand in line, girls. 323 5 AUGUST HERREL Gucky Gucky believes in the old proverb that actions speak louder than words. This probably accounts for his unusual silence in classes. Mr. Williams says, As a History student August would make an excellent marathon sleeper. But outside of classes whenever an argument occurs Gucky is al- ways in the thick of the battle, and he is far from speechless then. Ei! itll HAROLD HOFFMAN Harry Harold is just as great a pest in one class as in another. He has a very unusual gift of gabg he can talk all day and say nothing. One may go into Goseman's empty handed and come out with a pair of shoes and a headache. Harry is funny that way. He trys to laugh but the best he can do is to bellow. RUTH HOLMAN May we present one of the sweetest girls in the Senior class? Well, here she is, with her blonde hair and blue eyes. We didn't hear very much from Ruth until our Junior year, when a certain some- one occupied her attentions. We certainly didn't blame him. Ruth will be an excellent stenog some day. Lots of luck, Ruth. l 1 Page fwcnfy-three
