THE ORIFLAMME . . STEPHEN BECZA BO Here's a fellow who thinks that a little vacation now and then is just the thing for building up re- serve intellectual powers. After Steve comes to school for a day, he usually stays out two in.order to rest up. In History class Bo shines most brightly when a controversy arises in reference to the eigh- teenth amendment. But seriously Steve is a cork- ing, clever quarter-back. Elllifllill STELLA BELSKI Stell We have not heard much from Stella, but they say that still water runs deep. She is often seen in the company of Peg. Stell is quite an athlete, which is a very desirable asset in the eyes of her boy friend. 'Who is he? A certain young member of the basket- ball squad. Am I right, Stell? EBI MURRAY BERMAN Moey Splutter! Splutter! Splish! Bang! Ah, here it comes. Hey, take your false teeth out of your eyes. Look out, I'll bite your toes off . These witti- cisms 171 announce that the one and only mile-a- minute Mo-hee is near. Moey is one of our most ardent rooters, and what a voice. Ei! lill E ETHEL BLAKAITIS When we come to Ethel, we have reached the height of the Senior class . Ethel claims she spends three hours on her French home-work, but we don't know whether she means each night or the total for the year. Ethel is very cynical of the boys in the Senior class, claiming that they are only infants. However. we believe that somewhere there is a big, strong handsome he-man. Page seventeen

THE ORIFLAMME gf N Page sixteen LILLIAN ARMSTRONG Lil Can you imagine Lil walking out on Miss Ken- nedy? Well, that would be just too bad for our auburn haired typing teacher. It seems Lil is a very competent and steady worker, never failing to do her job thoroughly. Those characteristics make a good stenog, Lil. Just ask Miss Kennedy. E3 iii JOSEPHINE BAKER Dodo The reason for the shortage of library slips in school is Dodo. The teachers need two packs, one for the class and one for Dodo. When it comes to gum chewing she's second only to Chando, but as for chewing the rag,-that's another story. Our genial Commercial Club president is some finan- cier. It was rumored that she sold a magazine sub- scription, but it fell through. El IES BENJAMIN BECKER Caesar Caesar never dies. Neither does Benny in Chem- istry or Solid. Does this boy know his shapes? We take that back,-we mean figures. But Benny knows his acids and bases just as well as his figures. Even the honorable Mr. Shay never calls him astounding, incomprehensible names, which is quite a feather in Benny's cap. EE DOROTHY BECKER Dot Plump and full of fun,-that's Dot. We under- stand she has taken out a policy against breaking weighing machines. Dot claims it isn't her fault, but insists that a box of chocolates serves only as an appetizer. Who hasn't heard of Dorothy in Chemistry class? She and Mr. Shay agree like a little Freshman and a lordly Senior. I'

THE ORIFLAMME CHESTER BLASZKA Dom Dom would be the mystery man in the brown derby if he had a brown derby. To frighten the Frosh he wears a turtleneck sweater. The postoffice, the corner, and the borough hall being occupied, Dom awaits his fiame down by Becker's. And with what handwriting he pens his billets-doux. It has more fiourishes and curves than a snake's backbone. WARREN BOORAEM Pee Wee Take a deep breath before you attempt to say Pee Wee's full name. It is Warren Joseph Klauser Booraem. Such a little fellow to be burdened with a name like that. Miss Kelley gazes and her wonder grows that one small head can carry all that War- ren knows. But Pee Wee is a good sport and is always doing his bit for the class. OLGA BOSKO Olga seems to be a tall, languorous person, but by those who know her these thoughts are soon changed. She has a slow, amiable smile in reserve which she uses only for her immediate friends. Olga surely can do shorthand. And can she type! Why, she just burns up that typewriter. We can see where someone is going to get a perfect secretary. HENRY BOWMAN Dick Shy, meek Henry. He is Miss Newman's pet and Mr. Shay's pick. For every time that Miss New- man pampers Henry, Mr. Shay treats him rough. If Henry ever said a word of his own accord, we'd drop over. He must be coaxed into uttering even one syllable. Oh, if only a certain few of our class- mates were thus. lguge eighteen
